This is the monthly transparency report for November 2017. OVPN had one unplanned service interruption and one planned service interruption during the month of November.

Summary

Throughout the month of November, our VPN servers had an uptime of over 99.5%. In total, the OVPN servers encrypted and anonymized 2559.4 TB.

During the month of November, we did not receive any requests from authorities. To date, we have never given out any customer data to third parties.

Analysis

Our data center in Malmö has a maximum capacity of 10 Gbit/s. During the month of November, the traffic load amounted to 1650 Mbit/s on average.

The highest traffic spike was 7920 Mbit/s, which represents 79.2% of the maximum capacity. The 95th percentile landed on 2900 Mbit/s, meaning that 95% of the time, the traffic load was below 29.0% of the maximum capacity.

In total, 537.5 TB of data was encrypted and anonymized by the VPN servers in Malmö.

The Malmö data center had an uptime of over 99.5% during the month of November.

Our data center in Stockholm has a maximum capacity of 20 Gbit/s. During the month of November, the traffic load amounted to 5240 Mbit/s on average.

The largest recorded traffic spike was 16370 Mbit/s, which represents 81.9% of the maximum capacity. The 95th percentile landed on 7690 Mbit/s, meaning that 95% of the time, the traffic load was below 38.5% of the maximum capacity.

In total, 1.70 PB, meaning 1700 TB of data was encrypted and anonymized by the VPN servers in Stockholm.

The Stockholm data center had an uptime of 99.5% during the month of November.

We deployed our servers in Los Angeles in August 2017, making November the fourth month the servers have been running. The Los Angeles data center has a maximum capacity of 3 Gbit/s. However, the traffic load was only 31.4 Mbit/s on average in November.

The largest traffic spike recorded was 569.0 Mbit/s, which represents 19.0% of the maximum capacity. The 95th percentile landed on 69.5 Mbit/s, meaning that 95% of the time, the traffic load was below 2.3% of the maximum capacity.

In total, 10.2 TB of traffic was encrypted and anonymized in the Los Angeles data center.

We deployed our servers in Miami in August 2017, making November the fourth month the servers have been running. The Miami data center has a maximum capacity of 3 Gbit/s. However, the traffic load was only 21.3 Mbit/s on average in November.

The largest traffic spike recorded was 180.7 Mbit/s, which represents 6.0% of the maximum capacity. The 95th percentile landed on 48.9 Mbit/s, meaning that 95% of the time, the traffic load was below 1.6% of the maximum capacity.

In total, 6.9 TB of traffic was encrypted and anonymized in the Miami data center.

Miami had an uptime of 99.5% during November.

We deployed our servers in Oslo in August 2017 making November the fourth month the servers have been running. The Oslo data center has a maximum capacity of 3 Gbit/s. However, the traffic load was only 372.8 Mbit/s on average in November.

The largest traffic spike recorded was 1190 Mbit/s, which represents 39.6% of the maximum capacity. The 95th percentile landed on 711.7 Mbit/s, meaning that 95% of the time, the traffic load was below 23.7% of the maximum capacity.

In total, 121.1 TB of traffic was encrypted and anonymized in the Oslo data center.

Oslo had an uptime of 99.5% during November.
