This is the monthly transparency report for May 2018. OVPN had one unplanned service interruption and two planned service interruptions during the month of May.

Summary

Throughout the month of May, our VPN servers had an uptime of over 99.5%. In total, the OVPN servers encrypted and anonymized 2920.3 TB of data.

During the month of May, we received 0 request.

This number will increase as we are including received DMCA requests in future transparency reports, hence the new format.

Since we are a no-log VPN, we have never given out any such information.

Below are the traffic and uptime statistics from our current datacenters.

Analysis

Our datacenter in Malmö has a maximum capacity of 10 Gbit/s. During the month of May, the traffic load amounted to 1990 Mbit/s on average. During the month of December, we added an additional 3 servers to the Malmö datacenter, bringing the total upp to 7. In March, we added an additional 8 servers, bringing the total up to 15.

The highest traffic spike was 5080 Mbit/s, which represents 50.8% of the maximum capacity. The 95th percentile landed on 3230 Mbit/s, meaning that 95% of the time, the traffic load was below 32.3.% of the maximum capacity.

In total, 668,4 TB TB of data was encrypted and anonymized by the VPN servers in Malmö.

The Malmö datacenter had an uptime of 99.9% during the month of May.

Our datacenter in Stockholm has a maximum capacity of 20 Gbit/s. During the month of May, the traffic load amounted to 5890 Mbit/s on average. On January 31, we added an additional 8 servers to the Stockholm datacenter, bringing the total up to 20 servers.

The largest recorded traffic spike was 11030 Mbit/s, which represents 55.2% of the maximum capacity. The 95th percentile landed on 8074 Mbit/s, meaning that 95% of the time, the traffic load was below 40.4% of the maximum capacity.

In total, 1.98 PB, meaning 1980 TB of data was encrypted and anonymized by the VPN servers in Stockholm.

Between April 20 and May 22, the monitoring system for Toronto was down. Despite the gap in the graph, the servers were available.
