This is the monthly transparency report for July 2018. OVPN had two unplanned service interruption and zero planned service interruptions during the month of July.

Summary

Throughout the month of July, our VPN servers had an uptime of over 99.5%. In total, the OVPN servers encrypted and anonymized 2962.4 TB of data.

During the month of July, we received 0 request.

This number will increase as we are including received DMCA requests in future transparency reports, hence the new format.

Since we are a no-log VPN, we have never given out any such information.

Analysis

Our datacenter in Malmö has a maximum capacity of 10 Gbit/s. During the month of July, the traffic load amounted to 1980 Mbit/s on average. During the month of December, we added an additional 3 servers to the Malmö datacenter, bringing the total upp to 7. In March, we added an additional 8 servers, bringing the total up to 15.

The highest traffic spike was 4030 Mbit/s, which represents 40.3% of the maximum capacity. The 95th percentile landed on 2960 Mbit/s, meaning that 95% of the time, the traffic load was below 29.6.% of the maximum capacity.

In total, 664.0 TB TB of data was encrypted and anonymized by the VPN servers in Malmö.

The Malmö datacenter had an uptime of 100% during the month of July.

Our datacenter in Stockholm has a maximum capacity of 20 Gbit/s. During the month of July, the traffic load amounted to 5960 Mbit/s on average. On January 31, we added an additional 8 servers to the Stockholm datacenter, bringing the total up to 20 servers.

The largest recorded traffic spike was 11370 Mbit/s, which represents 56.6% of the maximum capacity. The 95th percentile landed on 8480 Mbit/s, meaning that 95% of the time, the traffic load was below 42.4% of the maximum capacity.

In total, 2.00 PB, meaning 2000 TB of data was encrypted and anonymized by the VPN servers in Stockholm.

We deployed our servers in London in January 2018, making July the seventh month the servers have been running. The London datacenter has a maximum capacity of 3 Gbit/s. However, the traffic load was only 54.2 Mbit/s on average in July.
