This is the monthly transparency report for January 2018. OVPN had two unplanned service interruptionsand two planned service interruptions during the month of January.

Summary

Throughout the month of January, our VPN servers had an uptime of over 99.5%. In total, the OVPN servers encrypted and anonymized 3172 TB of data.

During the month of January, we did not receive any requests from authorities. To date, we have never given out any customer data to third parties.

Below are the traffic and uptime statistics from our current datacenters.

Analysis

Our datacenter in Malmö has a maximum capacity of 10 Gbit/s. During the month of January, the traffic load amounted to 3000 Mbit/s on average. During the month of December, we added an additional 3 servers to the Malmö datacenter, bringing the total upp to 7.

The highest traffic spike was 6790 Mbit/s, which represents 67.9% of the maximum capacity. The 95th percentile landed on 5310 Mbit/s, meaning that 95% of the time, the traffic load was below 53.1% of the maximum capacity.

In total, 1.0 PB, meaning 1000 TB of data was encrypted and anonymized by the VPN servers in Malmö.

The Malmö datacenter had an uptime of over 99.5% during the month of January.

Our datacenter in Stockholm has a maximum capacity of 20 Gbit/s. During the month of January, the traffic load amounted to 5370 Mbit/s on average. On January 31, we added an additional 8 servers to the Stockholm datacenter, bringing the total up to 20 servers.

The largest recorded traffic spike was 10270 Mbit/s, which represents 51.4% of the maximum capacity. The 95th percentile landed on 8100 Mbit/s, meaning that 95% of the time, the traffic load was below 40.5% of the maximum capacity.

In total, 1.8 PB, meaning 1800 TB of data was encrypted and anonymized by the VPN servers in Stockholm.

The Stockholm datacenter had an uptime of 99.5% during the month of January.
