This is the monthly transparency report for December 2017. OVPN had two unplanned service interruptions and two planned service interruptions during the month of December.

Summary

Throughout the month of December, our VPN servers had an uptime of over 99.5%. In total, the OVPN servers encrypted and anonymized 3215.2 TB of data, which is 648.3 TB more than October that hold the previous record.

During the month of December, we did not receive any requests from authorities. To date, we have never given out any customer data to third parties.

Below are the traffic and uptime statistics from our current datacenters.

Analysis

Our datacenter in Malmö has a maximum capacity of 10 Gbit/s. During the month of December, the traffic load amounted to 2160 Mbit/s on average. During the month of December, we added an additional 3 servers to the Malmö datacenter, bringing the total upp to 7.

The highest traffic spike was 4390 Mbit/s, which represents 43.9% of the maximum capacity. The 95th percentile landed on 3480 Mbit/s, meaning that 95% of the time, the traffic load was below 34.8% of the maximum capacity.

In total, 723.0 TB of data was encrypted and anonymized by the VPN servers in Malmö.

The Malmö datacenter had an uptime of over 99.5% during the month of December.

Our datacenter in Stockholm has a maximum capacity of 20 Gbit/s. During the month of December, the traffic load amounted to 6160 Mbit/s on average.

The largest recorded traffic spike was 10180 Mbit/s, which represents 50.9% of the maximum capacity. The 95th percentile landed on 8420 Mbit/s, meaning that 95% of the time, the traffic load was below 42.1% of the maximum capacity.

In total, 2.1 PB, meaning 2100 TB of data was encrypted and anonymized by the VPN servers in Stockholm.

The Stockholm datacenter had an uptime of 99.5% during the month of December.

The largest traffic spike recorded was 890.9 Mbit/s, which represents 8.9% of the maximum capacity. The 95th percentile landed on 507.0 Mbit/s, meaning that 95% of the time, the traffic load was below 5.1% of the maximum capacity.

In total, 101.0 TB of data was encrypted and anonymized in the Frankfurt datacenter.

Frankfurt had an uptime of 99.5% during the month of December.

Our datacenter in Amsterdam has a maximum capacity of 3 Gbit/s. However, during the month of December, the traffic load amounted to 279.0 Mbit/s on average.

The largest traffic spike recorded was 886.2 Mbit/s, which represents 29.5% of the maximum capacity. The 95th percentile landed on 462.0 Mbit/s, meaning that 95% of the time, the traffic load was below 15.4% of the maximum capacity.

In total, 93,4 TB of data was encrypted and anonymized in the Amsterdam datacenter.

The largest traffic spike recorded was 380.2 Mbit/s, which represents 12.7% of the maximum capacity. The 95th percentile landed on 119.7 Mbit/s, meaning that 95% of the time, the traffic load was below 4.0% of the maximum capacity.

In total, 23.2 TB of traffic was encrypted and anonymized in the Toronto datacenter.

We deployed our servers in Los Angeles in August 2017, making December the fifth month the servers have been running. The Los Angeles datacenter has a maximum capacity of 3 Gbit/s. However, the traffic load was only 39.2 Mbit/s on average in December.

The largest traffic spike recorded was 182.2 Mbit/s, which represents 6.1% of the maximum capacity. The 95th percentile landed on 78.0 Mbit/s, meaning that 95% of the time, the traffic load was below 2.6% of the maximum capacity.

In total, 13.3 TB of traffic was encrypted and anonymized in the Los Angeles datacenter.

Los Angeles had an uptime of 99.5% during December.

We deployed our servers in Miami in August 2017, making December the fifth month the servers have been running. The Miami datacenter has a maximum capacity of 3 Gbit/s. However, the traffic load was only 20.5 Mbit/s on average in December.

The largest traffic spike recorded was 643.1 Mbit/s, which represents 21.4% of the maximum capacity. The 95th percentile landed on 42.8 Mbit/s, meaning that 95% of the time, the traffic load was below 1.4% of the maximum capacity.

In total, 6.9 TB of traffic was encrypted and anonymized in the Miami datacenter.

Miami had an uptime of 99.5% during December.

We deployed our servers in Oslo in August 2017 making December the fifth month the servers have been running. The Oslo datacenter has a maximum capacity of 3 Gbit/s. However, the traffic load was only 459.8 Mbit/s on average in December.

The largest traffic spike recorded was 1380 Mbit/s, which represents 46.0% of the maximum capacity. The 95th percentile landed on 796.9 Mbit/s, meaning that 95% of the time, the traffic load was below 26.6% of the maximum capacity.

In total, 154.4 TB of traffic was encrypted and anonymized in the Oslo datacenter.

Oslo had an uptime of 99.5% during December.

WEB01 had an uptime of 99.98%, and an average response time of 60.22 ms in December.

Database

SQL01 had an uptime of 100%, and an average response time of 2.22 ms in December.
