This is the monthly transparency report for October 2018. OVPN had two unplanned service interruption and zero planned service interruptions during the month of October.

Summary

Throughout the month of October , our VPN servers had an uptime of over 99.5%. In total, the OVPN servers encrypted and anonymized 3166.4 TB of data.

During the month of October, we received 1 request.

This number will increase as we are including received DMCA requests in future transparency reports, hence the new format.

Since we are a no-log VPN, we have never given out any such information.

Analysis

Our data center in Malmö has a maximum capacity of 10 Gbit/s. During the month of October, the traffic load amounted to 1750 Mbit/s on average. During the month of December, we added an additional 3 servers to the Malmö data center, bringing the total upp to 7. In March, we added an additional 8 servers, bringing the total up to 15.

The highest traffic spike was 4010 Mbit/s, which represents 40.1% of the maximum capacity. The 95th percentile landed on 3030 Mbit/s, meaning that 95% of the time, the traffic load was below 30.3% of the maximum capacity.

In total, 587.1 TB TB of data was encrypted and anonymized by the VPN servers in Malmö.

The Malmö data center had an uptime of 100% during the month of October.

Our data center in Stockholm has a maximum capacity of 20 Gbit/s. During the month of October, the traffic load amounted to 5940 Mbit/s on average. On October 16, we added an additional 5 servers to the Stockholm data center, bringing the total up to 25 servers.

The largest recorded traffic spike was 10560 Mbit/s, which represents 52.8% of the maximum capacity. The 95th percentile landed on 8810 Mbit/s, meaning that 95% of the time, the traffic load was below 44.1% of the maximum capacity.

In total, 2.0 PB, meaning 2000 TB of data was encrypted and anonymized by the VPN servers in Stockholm.
