VPN servers in Singapore

We have implemented a multi-layered security model to protect our customers. The first layer is the physical security of our servers, and that's why we never rent virtual or dedicated servers.

Besides all of the security benefits of colocating equipment instead of renting dedicated or virtual servers, colocation also enables us to use hardware with specialized benefits for OpenVPN & WireGuard.

That's why we have deployed the following hardware to Singapore:

  • Dell PowerEdge R230 which is equipped with an Intel® Xeon® E3-1220 v6 @ 3.00GHz processor, 8 GB RAM and 2x1 GbE Broadcom NIC

The picture is our actual VPN server in the rack cabinet. It's the one without any hard drives.

Colocation in Singapore

Network

We're currently renting 1 height unit in Equinix's data center on 26A Ayer Rajah Crescent. As of now, we have a 1 Gbit/s uplink to M247's network. The current transit and peering capabilities are Telia, PCCW, China Mobile International & Tata Communications.

When connecting to our VPN server in Singapore, your IP address will be hidden and you'll receive one of our Singaporean IP addresses. Devices that connect to our standard service are assigned a shared IP address (NAT).

If you're running Plex, a mail server, website or another type of service that require multiple ports to be opened, we also offer public IPv4 addresses as an add-on.

VPN protocols

Singapore supports both OpenVPN and WireGuard, enabling you to choose whichever VPN protocol that fits your needs the best.

Geolocation & access streaming services

OVPN's core focus is privacy and integrity. We do understand that our service is also used to circumvent geographical restrictions and access streaming services.

We have developed functionality to make sure that we can circumvent blocks by streaming providers as a result of that.

Due to those efforts, our Singaporean IP addresses shouldn't be blocked by streaming providers. If you're attempting to use a streaming provider that's blocked, please let us know and we'll attempt to fix it.

Connecting to Singapore

You can connect to our servers on a multitude of different platforms and operating systems. In case you're using Windows, macOS or Ubuntu we recommend our desktop client.

It's possible to set up a lot of different devices though so they all get a Singaporean IP address. See our guides for more information.

Server regions

Our VPN server network is constantly expanding. These are our current locations per Apr 27, 2024.
