This is the monthly transparency report for January 2019. OVPN had one unplanned service interruption and zero planned service interruptions during the month of January.

Summary

Throughout the month of January, our VPN servers had an uptime of over 99.5%. In total, the OVPN servers encrypted and anonymized 3783.2 TB of data, which is 175.7 TB more than December 2018 which hold the previous record.

During the month of January, we received 0 request.

This number will increase as we are including received DMCA requests in future transparency reports, hence the new format.

Since we are a no-log VPN, we have never given out any such information.

Our data center in Malmö has a maximum capacity of 10 Gbit/s. During the month of January, the traffic load amounted to 2090 Mbit/s on average.

The highest traffic spike was 4530 Mbit/s, which represents 45.9% of the maximum capacity. The 95th percentile landed on 3330 Mbit/s, meaning that 95% of the time, the traffic load was below 33.3% of the maximum capacity.

In total, 695.8 TB of data was encrypted and anonymized by the VPN servers in Malmö.

Our data center in Stockholm has a maximum capacity of 25 Gbit/s. During the month of January, the traffic load amounted to 6930 Mbit/s on average. On October 16, we added an additional 5 servers to the Stockholm data center, bringing the total up to 25 servers.

The largest recorded traffic spike was 12400 Mbit/s, which represents 49.6% of the maximum capacity. The 95th percentile landed on 10240 Mbit/s, meaning that 95% of the time, the traffic load was below 41.0% of the maximum capacity.

In total, 2.3 PB, meaning 2300 TB of data was encrypted and anonymized by the VPN servers in Stockholm.

We deployed our servers in Gothenburg in August 2018, making January the sixth month the servers have been running. During the month of November we added an additional 3 servers, which means the total capacity in Gothenburg increased from 3 Gbit/s to 6 Gbit/s. However, the traffic load was only 1160 Mbit/s on average in January.

The largest traffic spike recorded was 2840 Mbit/s, which represents 47.3% of the maximum capacity. The 95th percentile landed on 1880 Mbit/s, meaning that 95% of the time, the traffic load was below 31.3% of the maximum capacity.

In total, 385.6 TB of traffic was encrypted and anonymized in the Gothenburg data center.
