This is our fourth monthly summary report, summarizing the traffic load, server uptime and spikes in traffic.

We had two planned maintenance sessions in January to update the servers.

The downtime that occurred on January 9th lasted for about 30 minutes and only affected the servers in Stockholm. The downtime that occurred on January 29th affected all servers but only lasted for 1 minute.

Analysis

VPN01 encrypted and anonymized 53,694 GB (61.44 TB) of traffic in total.
That's an increase by 22 377 GB compared to the previous month.

The highest traffic spike landed on 596 Mbit/s, which is 41.9% of the maximum capacity.

The 95th percentile landed on 318 Mbit/s, which means that the traffic load was below 22.3% of the maximum capacity for 95% of the time.

VPN01 had an uptime of 99.9% in January. As the servers in Stockholm were the only ones affected by the downtime, the total uptime was 99.96%.

Analysis

VPN02 encrypted and anonymized 82,928 GB (81.00 TB)* of traffic in total.
That’s an increase of 37 382 GB compared to the previous month.

The traffic spike was 932 Mbit/s at its highest, which is 65.4% of the maximum capacity.

The 95th percentile landed on 465 Mbit/s, which means that the server load was below 32.6% of the maximum capacity for 95% of the time.

VPN02 had an uptime of 99.99% in January. If we include the planned maintenance, the uptime was in total 99.92%.

Analysis

VPN03 encrypted and anonymized 73,718 GB (72 TB) of traffic in total. This represents a decrease of 32,245 GB compared to the previous month.

The largest traffic spike recorded was 911 Mbit/s, which represents 63.9% of the maximum capacity, since we upgraded the network card on the server.

The 95th percentile landed on 447 Mbit/s, which means that the server load was below 31.4% of the maximum capacity for 95% of the time.

VPN03 had an uptime of 99.99% in January. Accounting for planned maintenance downtime the total uptime was 99.92%

Analysis

VPN04 encrypted and anonymized 66,810 GB (65.2 TB) of traffic in total. That's an increase of 19 897 GB compared to the previous month.

The largest traffic spike recorded was ** 692 Mbit/s**, which is **48.6% of the maximum capacity.

The 95th percentile landed on 387 Mbit/s, which means that the server load was below 27.2% of the maximum capacity for 95% of the time.

VPN04 had an uptime of 99.99% in January. Accounting for the planned maintenance the total uptime was 99.92.

Analysis

VPN05 provides American IP addresses since we added those on December 19th. VPN05 encrypted and anonymized 5 292GB (5.2 TB) of traffic in total.

The largest traffic spike recorded was 296 Mbit/s, which is 20.8% of the maximum capacity.

The 95th percentile landed on 70 Mbit/s, which means that the server load was below 4.9% of the maximum capacity for 95% of the time.

VPN05 had an uptime of 99.99% in January. Accounting for the planned maintenance the total uptime was **99.92

WEB01 - Falun

WEB01 had an uptime of 99.91% in January, which means the server was down for 38 minutes in total.

This won’t be visible on the server status graph as it’s such a short period of time.

We had a minor downtimes during January resulting in an uptime of 99.99% which sums up to 5 minutes of downtime.

SQL02 had an uptime of 99.98% in January resulting in a total downtime of 9 minutes.
Due to the short period of downtime it won’t be visible in the graph.

Summary

We succeeded in keeping an uptime of at least 99.5% in January despite of our maintenance sessions. The quick growth rate is obvious as we in January **encrypted and anonymized 111 93 GB (108.6 TB) more compared to the previous month.
Despite the high growth rate we are not even close to our maximum capacity. The average 95th percentile for all servers landed on 281 Mbit/s, meaning that the server load was below **23,2% of maximum capacity ** for 95 % of the time. OVPN thus maintains a lot of headroom for current and future customers in order to provide good speeds.
