Release of client version 1.1.5

It's time to release another update of OVPN's custom built client (v1.1.5.762). We've done 143 commits since the last client release - which means we've been quite busy improving the client experience.

Changelog

  • Added possibility to connect via TCP to port 443. More information is available in our FAQ
  • A link to the folder containing the logs is available in the application's footer
  • A loading icon has been added that is displayed until the GUI is loaded
  • Improved logic to find the best datacenter
  • Updated libraries such as DNScrypt, OpenVPN and OpenSSL
  • Migrated the front-end from jQuery to VueJS
  • Bug fix: killswitch wasn't always activated correctly
  • Bug fix: killswitch wasn't always de-activated correctly
  • Support for OVPN's new datacenters - Amsterdam & Toronto. More information will be published shortly.
  • OSX: Improved the connection process to OVPN. The management socket to OpenVPN uses IPv4 instead of IPv6
  • OSX: Killswitch gets activated on all network interfaces instead of just en0 & en1
  • Ubuntu: Killswitch gets activated for both IPv4 and IPv6 traffic
  • Windows: added possibility to left-click on the icon instead of solely right-click
  • Windows: fixed the majority of issues with sleep mode. We are still identifying some issues here. It should be completely fixed in the next release.

Open source

We're holding off releasing the client open source for a while longer until we can ensure it's stable enough for people to fork it.
